Picture book: the blue-button twins, 1912.

Picture book made by (or perhaps for) Alice Taylor, from pictures, numbered 1-15, from the series "The Blue-Button Twins," illustrating the story "The Twins and Tommy Kirby Give a Dinner Party," by Helene Nyce. The pictures were printed in the November 1912 issue of The Ladies Home Journal. The first picture shows a cat (Tommy Kirby) and a rabbit (John) helping with baking. Tommy is thrown out of the kitchen for misbehaving and decides to run away. As he walks by a farmyard, he sees Bobby and Susie, the Blue-Button Twins, working. Tommy and Bobby capture some chickens and tie them to stools while Susie sets a table for afternoon tea. The chickens, while pecking at the food, turn the table over and escape from their bonds. Tommy and Bobby help Susie repair the broken table and china. The pictures were cut from the magazine and pasted into this homemade book.
